About Dr. Pallavi

It all began with a story we are all familiar with. The younger sibling wants to do what her older sibling is doing. Pallavi Kasliwal was no different. When she was nine years old, she insisted that she too wanted to be a part of the magic workshop her older brother, Parag, was attending. Her parents relented. None of them expected that just one magic workshop during her summer vacation was going to change Pallavi’s life forever. Despite being the youngest in the workshop and a late entrant, Pallavi took to magic like none of the other participants. Not only did she win a gold medal, but also everyone’s hearts at the Grand Magic Show organized at the end of the workshop. Her magical journey had just begun.
Pallavi’s parents realized that she was a prodigious magician in the making. They encouraged her and her brother to continue learning magic and perform on stage. Soon, Pallavi made it to the Limca Book of Records as the youngest girl magician in India. That wasn’t all. She became the first and youngest girl magician to represent India in a foreign country and the youngest child magician to perform for 2.5 hours straight! She performed and gave interviews on television channels like Doordarshan, Zee, and Zee Marathi. In 1993, Pallavi along with her brother Parag held an audience of over one lakh spellbound with their magic at Gomteshwara in Karnataka. Over the past 32 years, she has performed in over 3,500 magic shows across the world!

Pallavi and Parag wowed the world with their magic shows, their parents encouraged them to use their talent to raise funds for AIDS awareness, the physically and mentally disabled, cancer patients, Kargil Relief Fund, Public Health Welfare, and Temple construction. When they performed at fundraisers for Jain temples, Pallavi often gave profound speeches on Jainism and vegetarianism that baffled her audience. As a child, she perhaps couldn’t fully understand the deep wisdom of her speeches, but they surely left a remarkable imprint on her subconscious. The Jain principles of Ahimsa, not to hurt any living being in actions, words, or thoughts, and Satya, truthfulness, made a deep impact on Pallavi and her approach to life. Reflecting back, Pallavi truly believes that it was the spiritual knowledge she gained and the blessings and appreciation she received while performing at these fundraisers that transformed her and brought her good luck.

When the time came to choose a career, Pallavi chose to become a physiotherapist. While pursuing her education, she met the man and magician of her life, her love, Dr Aalap Deshpande. Both of them braved through tough times and finally got married with the blessings of their loved ones. Her marriage to a Hindu surprised many in her traditional Jain community. But to Pallavi what mattered was love; it is beyond religion and caste. Her marriage introduced her to a culture and spirituality different from the one she grew up in. It was then she discovered that there is wisdom and magic all around us and that spirituality is nothing but operating out of a space of love for all beings. This led her on a quest to discover magic beyond the stage. Pallavi attended various workshops and courses and read several books only to discover the real magic is within us. We just need to tap it and let it unfold. This quest for magic ensured that her passion for it never faded. In fact, it only grew. She continues to not only mesmerize people with her magic shows but also adds a dash of magic and love in everything she does. Through sheer faith in the magic within her, Pallavi has built her dream life. Along with her husband, she started Empower Physiotherapy, Fitness and Slimming Centre, a leading physiotherapy centre in Nasik, the likes of which the city had never seen before. (2011) Further Dr Pallavi further went through vigorous learning and development herself and introduced new dimensions to Empower- her intention being of targetting the SOURCE of pain… may it be the unseen thoughts and emotions or the unwanted energies within and around…we need to have an approach that helps people on the level of physical body as well as thoughts, emotions, chakras and aura…. also ensuring that every client leaves their centre happy and satisfied every day. Their next goal is introduce this magical element in the field of physiotherapy around the world. They shall kick-start this endeavour by launching 200 Empower centres by name “Empower Expansion BEES” (BODY, EMOTIONS, ENERGY, SOUL)- across India.
Most people would become complacent after all these achievements.
Not Pallavi. She now wants to spread the joy of magic by founding India’s first, one of a kind school for magic. She has already conducted magic workshops for children and it’s time to take it to the next level. Her aim is not only to teach magic but also help people look at magic in a different light. Magic is not just about performing tricks but much more. It opens a whole new world. Magic teaches you about drama, timing, oratory, styling, teamwork, focus, and soft skills.
They say nothing is impossible and Pallavi defines this statement. Today, as Pallavi looks back at her achievements, she is convinced that the real magic was happening behind the scenes. Whether she was performing as a magician or building a physiotherapy and Healing centre, Pallavi has never bothered about the small stuff. She simply played her role to the best of her ability and ignored the naysayers. It is this indomitable faith in the magic within her that has keeps her going.
Is it any wonder that she’s one of the finest magicians and physiotherapists in the country and soon will be the founder of India’s first Magic School! All this while being an entrepreneur, a wife, a mother of two lovely girls and a constant learner and positive influencer
